On quiet days, Lake Fitzpatrick in Mt Annan provides a calm silvery mirror adorned with lilies and grassy edges, and here or there, a tree or two. There is a small island within and this, ducks and other creatures fan out, at their leisure.

   

A pair of Australian ducks paddle together. Leaving beautifully patterned ripples behind them, they head towards an unknown destination across the smooth, mirrored reflections of white clouds.  Predominantly Black and White, this now image has a soft edged muted blue border. The blue colour was drawn from the sky colour evident in another image taken at the same time and location. While this image is still beautiful without the border, I feel it provides a subtle sense of the viewer as human, both connected with nature, but also a species unto itself. – the consciousness we like to think of particular to us. Anyway, it is beautiful and I expect it to be one of my more popular works. For this reason I have decided to make an edition of 150 rather than my usual one offs.
